Mt. Rubidoux Easter Sunrise Service

Poet Laureate Application

We invite you to submit an application to be considered in our search for our very first Easter Sunrise Service Poet Laureate.

The Mt. Rubidoux Easter Sunrise Service began in 1908, making it the longest running inter-denominational sunrise service in the United States. There is a long history of poetry being inspired by the sunrise service at Mt. Rubidoux and written specifically for it, most notable is the poem “God of the Open Air” by Henry Van Dyke. We invite you to become part of the amazing history of this glorious event.

The poet selected will be featured at the Sunrise Service and will share their poem with the thousands of people in attendance and watching on the livestream, and will be celebrated on our social media and website.

  5. Please submit the text for your poem and a video of you reciting the poem below, or you can also email submissions to iamantioch@gmail.com.
